An important patent timepiece by Aaron Willard,
Jr.,
Boston, c. 1815
This superb banjo clock retains both of its original
glasses, the lower glass depicting the Boston State House and
the upper glass fitted with a thermometer. Both the dial and
throat glass are inscribed with the maker’s name. While
the throat glass has two horizontal cracks that have been professionally
restored, the clock overall remains in a fine and original state
of preservation.
